In about 25 years of birding at the airport in Dorval, Quebec, I've never come across this species. So it was quite a surprise to look out the window and from about 0.5km away see a large white bird flying in summertime, meaning it wasn't a Snowy Owl.

Ottawa - This bird is Ontario's first Little Egret. It was spotted last week a few km away but only seen really for a day; refound in Kanata today. It does move around quite a bit. Last week it had head plumes. Gone now. Feet yellow but not quite as bright as Snowy Egret. Lores, in front of eyes, blue/gray. A bit larger than Snowy Egret but much smaller than Great Egret.
