St. Rose - This is the easiest hawk to photograph. Rather than flying off when you are still 100+ feet away in your car, the bird will often remain until you are a reasonable diatance. That is especially true for young birds.

Alfred - I watched this Merlin hunting and when it returned after a capture it first disgorged a pellet before attempting to eat the dragonfly. It didn't eat the wings.

While out in the field near Saint Clet, Quebec, much to our surprise a Merlin came up and landed right beside us on a small post. This was only minutes after seeing a Harrier in the same location.

Shortly after spotting a Merlin, this Snowy Owl glided over and may have attempted to take the prey of the Merlin which was down on the ground in the field. Seen near Saint Clet, Quebec.
