Double-banded Sandgrouse (1) (Pterocles bicinctus) User: Ivan M  (See all photos - 312) (Comments - 37)
Botswana Probably the most common sandgrouse in Botswana. Sandgrouse visit waterholes and rivers in the early morning and have special spongy feathers that retain water, that they will then deliver to the chicks that stayed in the more arid habitat.

Coppery-tailed Coucal (1) (Centropus cupreicaudus) User: Ivan M  (See all photos - 312) (Comments - 37)
Botswana Coucals are hard to see and there are several similar species. The coppery-tailed coucal is large and has a coppery sheen that is visible only in good light. This one was nice enough to stick around for long enough!
