And there were 6 more outside the frame. I worked with this flock for 2 1/2 hours which is far longer tha one would expect. Whimbrels usually stop only a short time then continue on their way to the Arctic so I got very lucky. They were being held back by extremely strong winds from the northwest. It worked for me
