Black-throated Sparrow (Amphispiza bilineata) User: Brian Morin  (See all photos - 1254)
Canada (Ontario) Oakville - A southwestern visitor. Better chance of seeing this bird in Arizona. A provincial rarity, I had to try for this little fellow.

Surprisingly there had been another a month ago about 100 km further east (different bird) but it was a one-day wonder and I couldn't get there. This was a great opportuity to see one on home turf. I wasn't prepared for how small it is; not much bigger than a Chickadee.

I'm really happy that I decided to go for it because I didn't notice a sighting post yesterday. It was a five hour run but worth the drive.
