Harris's Sparrow (Zonotrichia querula) User: Brian Morin  (See all photos - 1269)
Canada (Ontario) Ingleside - This bird was spotted about 10 days ago and has been tough to see but after successive trips I finally had luck today. While some migrate through Northwestern Ontario, only a very few make it further east and south each year. This was our first local bird.

After failing to find another three hours away last month, this was well appreciated, a local bird for us.

The bird's colours are subdued but it is a nice contrast as you say. I was fairly close in my car waiting for the right moment. It only came out periodically.
