female, juvenile
Cobourg - This is a winter like no other. A while ago I set a goal of hopefully seeing 100 Snowies this winter. I surpassed that target some time ago and have spotted 150 in Eastern Ontario alone with a few in other parts of the province like this bird. It would be possible to see 175 In Eastern Ontario but it would take some work and a lot more driving. There will be many fond memories.

I anticipated that we would start to see birds returning from the U.S. around mid-month. Last night in Cornwall I found an old adult male, no visible marks, atop a light (so I could clearly see it with binoculars even at 10 p.m.) This is a new bird locally. Keep your eyes open for more arrivals.
