adult, winter plummage, outside normal range
Brooklin - There is still a bit of breeding colour on the head but not much. This was the second day of the bird's appearance and I was lucky to be passing close by on my way home from Southern Ontario so I had to only make a minor detour.

  1. Good story with this one. After the bird was spooked by the herd when it landed on the back of one of them and subsequently disappeared near the barns for 15 minutes, I drove around and saw the farmer, drove up the lane and started a conversation. His son said he saw the bird at the barn so the dad and I walked back and spotted it (mind the mud and ‘water’) . The cattle flushed it again and it landed on a gate not far away. It worked for me.
