The highlight of the trip, not only for looking spectacular, but for seeing the excitement it created from many people and even non-birdwatchers. We were very lucky to have him fly down from a hidden perch into the open. With hope the forests can continue to be protected with increased interest and awareness of this and other bird species. Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, Costa Rica.

The colours on this species made all folks take a look, even the non-birdwatchers. Have not seen many as intricate as this one.
