Excellent job. I’m glad the sun was out for you. It seems to also show a two-toned colouring... slightly turquoise which I also noticed this on the birds here. For some reason I never noticed this before but it could be it was always a cloudy day!

Goldeneyes (both species) really need that light to show off their iridescene so it was a question of the right day, right time and right location. I had a choice, before heading to the bird, of being on one side of the river or the other. I made the right choice.
