A real treat to see the Rose-throated Becard for the first time. The Gray-collared Becard was also in nearby trees but could not be photographed. Resaca De La Palma State Park.

Nice to be able to pick up some specialties on your trip.
As birdwatching evolves, I now often go out just with the camera and no binoculars. Partly for weight, but also I found I was using the camera most of the time. I have a bunch of “record” shots including a poor Crimson-collared Grosbeak, that if any field marks are visible I’ll attempt to upload. The sorting from earlier this year isn’t complete though 🫣
