I find that sometimes this warbler is easier to see on it's wintering grounds in Ecuador and Colombia than it is here during migration.

Always an exciting bird to see.
it is a Choco endemic whose range is restricted to the montane forests on the western slopes of the Andes in Ecuador and Colombia.
This northwestern area of Ecuador has recently been designated A UNESCO biodiversity hotspot.
