One Reply to “Alder Flycatcher”

  1. A sure sign of summer. This bird is most likely an Alder or Willow flycatcher but without hearing the call they can’t be safely separated. The bird lacks the peaked head as well as long wings and tail of a Pewee. The Pewee bill looks a bit longer in proportion to the head and is not so conical. These features for all three species are subtle making identification challenging but the giveaway in this case is the lack of a peaked head.
