One of the more spectacular birds I saw on this trip, the Racket-tailed Drongo shows an incredibly long tail plume. Seen at Thattekad, India. Happy that this bird becomes my 500th photo upload!

What seemed like an impossibility came true. Finding the Asian Fairy Bluebird in a spectacular setting like the Thattekad Bird Sanctuary was a highlight for all time for me. I couldn't get any closer for a photo.

Hunting in the early morning at Nanoli in the countryside east of Bombay. At first I thought it was a Sparrowhawk, but the light colour, lack of tail bands and minimal barring above the legs points to Shikra.
