This bird has a very limited distribution,( a Choco endemic) found only in parts of Columbia and northern Ecuador.

Mindo Cloud Forest Reserve is one one the places where this bird can be seen regularily seen.
The males had a lek and you would hear a sound like a little trumpet and then the wings would shoot up.
