It took me 5 months to properly ID this bird. I thought it was a winter plumage Golden-Crowned sparrow until I stumbled on some photos online that pointed me straight.

After hiking up and down the canyon and seeing very little, I settled at the hummingbird feeder where I saw this Magnificent, plus male and female Anna's, and Black-Chinned hummingbirds.
