Ingleside - in the dying minutes of the day the bird was quite active. I have changed my strategy for shooting Snowy Owls. I no longer bother with morning shots and during the day they are on the ground, often well out in fields so inaccessible. I start looking by 2 p.m. on sunny days and 1:30 on cloudy days at this time of year. They are more alert from 3 on and active by 3:30. This can of course change from bird to bird.
