BrianMorin: Shy and up high usually make this a tough subject to shoot but being Pelee, this one was very cooperative, feeding on the ground much of the time.

The bird was on territory and I was able to get it from my car. I thought I had some fairly good shots at Point Pelee but this turned out even better.

BrianMorin: It is our most richly marked breeding species. They are not common but in the right habitat there are a few locations we can find them.

Toronto - Ontario's Trumpeter Swans, introduced a few decades ago, winter largely on Lake Ontario between Toronto and Hamilton. They are a familiar sight along the waterfront in the winter.
