Now known as African Penguin this is Southern Africa's only penguin. Go to Boulders beach in the Western Cape to see them. But another 6 species penguins have arrived as vagrants. I have some shots of some taken elsewhere in the world

Why are common names so difficult?- Known as Yellow-billed Duck in Southern Africa. A common resident in South Africa. There have been attempts to eradicate Mallards to stop them inter-breeding with Yellow-bills
