Presqu'ile Provincial Park - I made the lengthy trip hoping to find some of these interesting birds. I had some luck in the afternoon. This is peak time for the Whimbrel flight. Presqu'ile is on the periphery of their migration. Toronto is where most of the flight passes.

Ottawa - I had been hoping to find a Red Phalarope somewhere in the region this fall and had a chance to check out this individual which had just been spotted.

BrianMorin: This was a little beauty and the light really made a positive difference. The phalarope swan around large boulders along the shore, disappearing for a minute or more, then coming back into view.

Ottawa - The duck, one of three, was in a city park in a pond. It had paused along the shore with a very large boulder offering a pleasing background.

Chris: Agreed…great subject and background. Looks like the rock has some type of lichen or covering.
BrianMorin: Yes, could have been some but it was also an igneous boulder with a natural pinkish-brown tone. I think the warm light helped too.
