Chesterville - It hardly seems worthwhile taking a picture of a Crow but this bird piqued my curiosity. It spent a few minutes working on a partial cob of corn then flew away with its prize.

Ottawa - This bird is Ontario's first Little Egret. It was spotted last week a few km away but only seen really for a day; refound in Kanata today. It does move around quite a bit. Last week it had head plumes. Gone now. Feet yellow but not quite as bright as Snowy Egret. Lores, in front of eyes, blue/gray. A bit larger than Snowy Egret but much smaller than Great Egret.

Ottawa - this bird has cooperated for observers for a couple of weeks. Most of the time it spends sitting on the water in the middle of the Ottawa River waiting to chase gulls. It lifts off occasionally, puts on a show in hot pursuit. For this shot it was soaring like a gull for about 90 seconds. Very nice of it.
