A bird I'd seen once before in 2012 for about 2 seconds. This day I had tracked some at Road 22 through Poison Ivy but only heard them. Later in the day I made a late stop at this site. It was heavily mosquito infested but as I was leaving I heard the now familiar sound. This one appeared in the open above me and I snapped off about 5 decent shots.

Lucky to see this bird with partial breeding plumage. Most Red Knots we see lack the colour.

The other birds are Black-bellied Plovers.

Hybrid Black-Chinned X Anna's Hummingbird. There was quite a fuss when a Black-chinned was reported on the local bird alert, first photo records in Lower mainland. The photos were referred to a Hummingbird expert in California and to David Sibley, both confirmed it was a hybrid, probably with Anna's.
