Macaroni Penguins are different. They prefer ( as do the Rockhoppers) steep cliffs which they climb up with remarkable agility. These were inaccessible by land and could only be viewed from the zodiacs

King Penguins have a unique breeding cycle among birds raising two chicks every 3 years. This means that during the summer months there always birds with eggs, youngsters which they keep on their feet and juveniles like this one

We had 3 landings on S Georgia all with vast King Penguin Colonies. The noise and smell of 250000 king Penguins needs to seen to be believed

I find the prions the most difficult birds to ID at sea. They never rarely come close enough to give you a good shot and camera angles can be deceptive in deciding on bill shape and size. I thought this could also be a slender-billed Prion
which breeds on the Falklands. Any opinions welcomed.

Giant Petrels were constant companions along side the boat. This is a Northern- note the red tip to the bill
