Birding since the late 1980s...mid 40s birder. Being out in nature and hearing the morning chorus, seeing how birds interact with their surroundings and go about their lives provides me a greater understanding of the natural environment we live in. With bird photography, every photo is different, which makes seeing the same and different species exciting.

Another lifer - and just as we were about to wrap up with not many birds around, 3 Groove-billed Anis flew in calling away and enjoying the breeze in the high heat and humidity. Lower Rio Grande Valley NWR, La Puerta Tract.

Out for a brief moment from the dense brush, the elusive Varied Bunting made an appearance. A male had been in the same area, and so hopefully they managed to nest. Lower Rio Grande Valley NWR, Yturria Tract sector.
