Birding since the late 1980s...mid 40s birder. Being out in nature and hearing the morning chorus, seeing how birds interact with their surroundings and go about their lives provides me a greater understanding of the natural environment we live in. With bird photography, every photo is different, which makes seeing the same and different species exciting.

Warblers, morning light, and forest cover. I've always had trouble with this species, but we're getting there. Long Point, Ontario.

The amazing thing about spring migration at Long Point - you never know how each day will turn our. Every day is different.

I've been attempting for months to get back to the review of photos from earlier this year. Various things have prevented that until now. Happy to see our migratory friends again. Long Point, Ontario.

Have been away for some time, and just starting to catch up. I have to admit, coming across this bird not knowing what it was at the time, was an interesting experience. Northeast of Saigon by about 2 hours.

At Boundary Bay, in the same location as the Little Stint in 2018. This bird was amongst 1000-2000 sandpipers, and was a challenge to see. Many people were helpful in pointing out markers out in the bay to help find him, as he looks almost identical to Western Sandpiper when facing away. As the tide was coming in, the wind kicked up which meant most birds were facing away and with their heads tucked. One lucky photo came out.
