Ottawa - I have done 'self portraits' with Chickadees before but this was my first effort with a very accepting White-breasted Nuthatch. For some technical details, the bird is about 18" from the lens with lens set at wide angle at f20 for maximum depth of field. You don't want a telephoto for this type of shot. Some individuals are more cautious so extending the arm a bit further may be required.
