Amherst Island - A few pairs breed on the island. This male fed fairly close to the trail I was on.

Fantastic capture, lovely habitat.
Sometimes everything comes together. I saw this shot before it happened. I watched the bird moving about and hoped it would approach this tiny bit of water which had a great sky reflection. It did briefly and I made sure I took advantage of the opportunity. The low, tight vegetation that went right into the water made this look like a lush salad. It was a perfect setting.
I definitely noticed the effect…the halo of green vegetation also really stands out
No doubt about it, it is a ‘pretty’ setting.
