Fabulous shot of one of my favorites.
I know what you mean about being a favourite. This is what most non-birders think about when they think of sandpipers. I was lucky because a flock of 40 had arrived likely late morning and were working Beach 1. They were easier to work with than the few on Gull Island and clean sand offered an excellent setting.
