Ottawa - On my third attempt over a three week period I finally had the bird near a feeder. He sure brightens up the landscape.

The colour is so bright at this time of year when there are no breeding plumage Goldfinches. It is also a noticeably larger bird.
Terrific photo. Hopefully he can find some good food to last these harsh days.
Apparently since I was there the bird has taken an interest in suet feeders as well and people have been bringing seed for it too so it is looking good.
