This Owl was roosting just off a popular seaside path in Delta. It was keeping one eye open to watch for trouble. It must like the location as it's been using it for a month or two.

There have been four owls just off the dyke recently. Today, one of them came out to pose. May photographers present.

It is definitely agreed by the local birding community that these are long-eared. They appear a bit stockier than what is seen in field guides.

This is a life list addition for me. I was actually there to photograph a short-eared owl I saw on the adjacent golf course the day before.
