You never know when we'll see Mew Gulls here. On this day I saw some in Point Roberts Washington and later at Iona in Richmond BC.

Several wary Mew Gulls stopped on a small outcrop at North Saanich, BC. It was interesting that some had lighter eyes, some darker, and some had light feet and legs with other's more yellow.

Mew Gull strolling along the coast under the wary eye of Bald Eagles. There were many chases, and lots of food to go around. Point Roberts, Washington.

Sometimes this species also has a black ring around the bill which can cause some confusion with the Ring-billed Gull. However there are some other characters that distinguish the two, such as the dark eye.
