While owling at the airport on the Montreal Christmas Bird Count, tapes of Screech and Great-horned didn't produce anything. Squeaking worked in drawing in this Barred Owl. A 10 second exposure was needed at 6:50am while it was still dark. 300mm lens, f5.6, using a flashlight for additional light.

Shot taken at the ile Bizard Nature Park, my first encounter with such a beautiful specimen after 6 -7 trips to the park, my lucky day.

A rare occasion where the Barred Owl appeared near the boardwalk of the Corkscrew Swamp. He was too close for my 400mm that I was shooting with. I had to switch to the 100-400mm.
