This is the wild ancestor of the common barnyard chicken.A bird who contributed to feeding the masses.This was spotted in the jungle at Kaeng Krachen National Park.We waited at a blind for them to appear out of the forest.They are quite skittish.The crowing sounds slightly different from the domesticated birds.

What a fantastic bird.We watched it from a distance feeding on fruits then suddenly,a car drove by and flushed the bird.It flies with very slow wing beats and with each downward stroke of the wing,you hear a loud "shwoosing" sound.
