Point Pelee National Park - What a treat to have a chance to see this night bird at close range and only 18" off the ground.

Stunning colour pattern, even more so against the backdrop of the greenery
The camouflage this bird has is amazing. While we can clearly see it up close, its appearance is that of a bump on a log.

I love their sound. I remember camping at Point Pelee and hearing it in the very early morning.
It is a familiar sound and one often heard in the hour before sunrise. I was super pleased to see it and to not have it obscured by branches or vegetation..
