This Glaucous Gull had an obvious bill deformity. These birds can survive with such handicap almost as well as normal ones!

A rare bird sighting at a children's playground and beach at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby. It was with about a hundred Ring-Billed and Glaucous-winged Gulls, but really stood out when it appeared. This was my first lifer of 2014.

If my id is correct, there are Glaucous, Iceland, Herring and Ring-billed Gulls in this photo. Anyone care to confirm? Seen at Saint-Anne des Monts, Quebec.

Young Glaucous Gull near Saint Anne des Monts, eastern Quebec province. Seen just as a major storm was rolling in.

Not a great shot, but was finally able to photograph the Glaucous Gull. What I believe to be several species, including adult winter plumage (centre), immature first winter Glaucous (4th bird from the left), Great black-backed Gull (5th from left), Herring Gull (2nd from left) and other unidentified birds, possibly young Herring Gulls.
