Smiths Falls - Anyone who has tried to get pictures of meadowlarks knows how challenging this can be. This is the first time in two years of trying that I've gotten within a reasonable distance of this species.

I was trying to improve my position to shot a Caracara on a roof, when something caught my eye in front of me. Less than 15 feet away was this meadowlark in the grass. The irony is that I have never seen one in Canada.
