I had a few different angles of this species, but this one depicts the all-orange mandible and the broken eye ring on top of the eye. It helped also that the bird was calling. White Lake Grasslands reserve, BC, Canada.

Having 2 pairs of this species in the same marsh as several Red-winged Blackbirds seems to be causing the Redwings quite a bit of stress. However they generally leave each other alone. Iona regional park, BC, Canada.

Where there were Blue-winged Teal, there were Cinnamon Teal - at least tonight at Iona, Richond, BC. Not a lifer, but a new species to photograph for me.
