Early morning at Mirador Rio Blanco, Los Bancos. What a way to start the day, with a lifer - seen from above which was not how I imagined seeing this species for the first time.

Ecuador, the true birder's paradise. Almost unreal - everywhere you looked was overwhelming. This one from the Alambi Reserve west of Quito.

Was not able to get decent photos of this species, but at least some key field marks showing. It seemed to behave differently than others and keep well-aawy most of the time. Frutty Tour lodge.
