Birding since the late 1980s...mid 40s birder. Being out in nature and hearing the morning chorus, seeing how birds interact with their surroundings and go about their lives provides me a greater understanding of the natural environment we live in. With bird photography, every photo is different, which makes seeing the same and different species exciting.

How lucky I was to come face to face with this Townsend's Warbler. The striking head pattern is unmistakable against the brown backdrop of the spring swamp. Far outside it's normal range, the species makes is 3rd ever appearance in Quebec, at Pointe-Calumet northwest of Montreal.

This was all about timing. The Osprey had just taken 2 dives into a small lake near Hudson, Quebec when it flew right past me.
