Birding since the late 1980s...mid 40s birder. Being out in nature and hearing the morning chorus, seeing how birds interact with their surroundings and go about their lives provides me a greater understanding of the natural environment we live in. With bird photography, every photo is different, which makes seeing the same and different species exciting.

My first time seeing a Whip-poor-will. This bird caused confusion with the experts, as it's wings were crossed at the back, leading folks to believe it was a Common Nighthawk. After further study they determined it was in fact a Whip-poor-will. Seen at Point Pelee, Canada.

The Wild Turkeys at Point Pelee are not at all shy. This one's colours came out in the midday sun.

I didn't have any uploads of male Red-winged Blackbirds until now. This was by far and away the most abundant bird at Point Pelee, with the morning chorus almost deafening!

Not the closest, but since there is only one other Field Sparrow photo uploaded on Birdviewing, I thought maybe it would get some interest. Seen at Point Pelee, Ontario.
