Carleton-sur mer - I saved myself a very long expensive trip to Australia, opting for a journey to the south shore of the Gaspé. This is the first time this shorebird has been seen anywhere in Eastern North America. It would normally be heading to Indonesia and Australia, the latter being its main winter destination. This endangered species is the largest shorebird in the world, standing two feet tall. It breeds in northeastern Russia, northeastern China and Mongolia.
