In Morocco, Spotless (or Unicolored) Starlings replace the ubiquitous European Starlings. They look about the same but lack the white spots in every plumage. As the more common species, Spotless Starlings are also very good at imitating sounds, and the ones living close to the main roads may even reproduce the sounds of truck motors!

Common Bulbuls are a very common African bird, one of the few species occurring both South and North of the Sahara. They are very noisy and never go undetected!

White Storks are a common sight in Morocco, especially in the Middle Atlas region, where they seem to like putting their nests on the top of buildings in major towns. This one was found in Fèz.

As their name says, House Buntings are often found around human settlements. This one showed off for a while in a village in the gorgeous palm groves of Oued Ziz.

Larks are all brownish, but Desert Larks have taken their mimetism a step further... they match the colour of the sand quite perfectly!

Spending new year in the desert is a wonderful experience... and Morocco offers great birds, too! White-crowned Wheatears are a common sight in the desert areas, especially around human settlements!
