Will need some expert advice on this situation. These wild Scarlet Macaws were seen a few kilometers away from Manuel Antonio Park on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. While they were feeding on those wild fruits, apparently a few years ago a group of Scarlet Macaws were part of a re-introduction program of 15 birds originally placed at Manuel Antonio Park. So now I'm not sure of the official status of these birds I photographed, which may be the same or offspring.
On our first afternoon at Punta Leona, the Macaw's showed up on the nut trees, right on the beach. Lots of people around. It was after 6pm with low light. In later days we could never get this close.
