Blenheim - An uncommon migrant. I sat on the grass and waited. After a short time the bird walked to within six feet. That's why shorebirds can be fun to work with if you play the waiting game rather than chasing, which seldom works.

Crysler - Nice to see an adult of this uncommon species. There are very few areas for us to check for shorebirds this year so it was nice to see a spot along a river with good habitat and several dozen birds.

Ingleside - Regionally uncommon and locally even harder to find. This bird was with Lesser Yellowlegs and came towards us, approaching as close as four metres.

Ingleside - Continuing with the recent shorebird theme, this bird was hanging around with Lesser Yellowlegs. It is an uncommon regional bird in migration.

Ingleside - Stilt left and Lesser Yellowlegs right. Both birds have muddy legs obscuring leg colour.

Ingleside - This bird was feeding with Lesser Yellowlegs for a nice comparison. Note light eye stripe and slightly decurved bill tip. Bird is a bit smaller than Yellowlegs and legs are greeny-yellow.
