Lancaster - Cooper Marsh. Not as clean as Rick Poulin's picture this week but a pleasant surprise nevertheless. The multi-year water drawdown at Cooper Marsh has meant that cattails are no longer present in the eastern portion and have been replaced by sedges and grasses, perfect for a small colony of Sedge Wrens. Very hard to see but they call well early and late in the day. The area will have water levels raised again in a couple of years so the Sedge Wrens will leave.

Alfred - After finding a very cooperative bird last week I found another today. I worked with this subject for 15 minutes from 10-15 feet. In my car of course. This image is uncropped. I was that close.

Gatineau - Looking back over this amazing winter for Snowy Owls, I never thought I'd come up with a picture like this. A returning bird has probably been around for a couple of weeks and who knows when it will decide to depart. Seeing this species in such a setting is totally unexpected. This completes my run for 225 birds.
