Birding since the late 1980s...mid 40s birder. Being out in nature and hearing the morning chorus, seeing how birds interact with their surroundings and go about their lives provides me a greater understanding of the natural environment we live in. With bird photography, every photo is different, which makes seeing the same and different species exciting.

A compilation photo for identification purposes of a Hoary Redpoll. The bird displayed the field marks such as no streaking, white rump, larger size versus Common Redpoll, and overall pale colour.
Seen in the airport field during the Christmas Bird Count.

Dark-phase Rough-legged Hawk, one of 3 seen on yesterday's Christmas Bird Count covering the airport area at Montreal. Amazingly, a total of 12 hawks including Red-tailed and Harrier were seen making it the highest total in 2 decades of doing the airport count.
