Birding since the late 1980s...mid 40s birder. Being out in nature and hearing the morning chorus, seeing how birds interact with their surroundings and go about their lives provides me a greater understanding of the natural environment we live in. With bird photography, every photo is different, which makes seeing the same and different species exciting.

A lifer for me. This Barnacle Goose was seen on the Richelieu River at St-Jean, together with Canada Geese. The cold, windy November weather was not great for photography but still made for an unforgettable day. Hopefully he finds his way...

A massive assembly of over 100,000 Snow Geese at the Victoriaville Reservoir last weekend. We could not find the Ross's Goose. However several Canada Geese stuck together as they made their way through the crowds.

Along with an adult, this immature Peregrine Falcon was hunting near the Champlain Bridge at Montreal over the weekend. It was occasionally perched on the very highest point of the bridge, and then would take off going upwards until nearly impossible to see.

The Peregrine Falcon is a formidable hunting machine. It can reach over 300 km/h in pursuit of prey. I would not want to be a Pigeon or Duck in the area of the Champlain Bridge these days.
