Birding since the late 1980s...mid 40s birder. Being out in nature and hearing the morning chorus, seeing how birds interact with their surroundings and go about their lives provides me a greater understanding of the natural environment we live in. With bird photography, every photo is different, which makes seeing the same and different species exciting.

A rather strange assemblage of 3 male Ruddy Ducks, female Hooded Merganser, Ring-necked Duck, a female Ruddy Duck, and 2 Bufflehead. Seen at Baie du Febvre yesterday.

A rather thin Red-tailed Hawk sitting at the northeast end of Mirabel Airport this afternoon. Hope this one can bulk up and make it through the winter.

Canada Geese began heading right for me as they decended into the Saint Lazare sand pits. In the end about 500 geese were present.

I was lucky enough to see a Greater Yellowlegs (right) walk past a Lesser Yellowlegs (left), which gave the comparison in the photo.
