Not a typical shot of woodpecker. Shot at the Refuge faunique Marguerite-d'Youville.

I was shooting primarily a Nuthatch on this tree stump when this woodpecker took its place. Since I was already very close (~4 meters), I only had time to drag the tripod back a bit and get off a few shots before the woodpecker left the stump.

Point Pelee National Park - where else can you find a Scarlet Tanager on the beach than at Point Pelee in spring. WInd was gale force across Lake Erie so the bird was hunkered down on the leeward side.
