Kingston - Wolfe Island. This striking adult male looks right at home in a rock pile. It looks like he is back in the Arctic.

St. Rose - I was photographing this bird on a pole for about five minutes when it took off hunting. It flew close overhead and I couldn't even get it all in but that was OK. The light was perfect.

Kingston - Wolfe Island I had another chance to capture this challenging species on a recent trip. Nice late day light highlights the bright colours.

Golden Lake - the female rules the roost and told the male so. He took off when she landed. Note the 'trousers' she is wearing. She is all dressed up in her finest to come to dinner.

Kingston - Wolfe Island. Finally had a chance to shoot a great looking male. This was a banner day. We made a concerted effort to do a Snowy count and ended up with 47 birds. Without knowing key places to look and how to look (have to stay until after sunset) you'd come away with about 20-25 birds which is still great.
